I happened upon this movie on tubi, a disconnected approach that tried to copy on golden pond, and failed miserably. There was no humour just one disaster after another, selfish child, egocentric father, the highlights of aging and the bravery it takes to move forward in one's life and accept aging. Epic fail highlighting subpare acting.
An accurate depiction of the logging industry for the time and the area of NC USA. These two Cooper and Lawrence seem to just fit together in acting roles. They have the same chemistry as Tracey and Hepburn yet we never see them in a true comedy. This movie is dark, and depicts a cruel albeit life of the logging industry many accidents and challenges along with greed and jealousy. Happy ending in any film produced in the last 10 years seems to be a missing, this atones for the ratings this film received.
This show is about a man's relationship with an Octopus and her life of one year. The perils she endured and how instinctively she knew to hide from a predator. I found it unkind that her human friend could not have saved her from a shark attack from which she nearly died however within a short period of time her tentacle grew back.
Whenever I see animal life like this I have to wonder if this attack was set up. The underwater scenery was spectacular. The area around the horn of Africa very tumultuous waters but still incredibly beautiful. This show affirms what I always thought every living creature has a soul we just never get close enough to see it
I think the era was the 70's for this production of Crowley's original play. Parsons character clearly is panicked about his roommates arrival because he doesn't want his friend to know he is gay. On a deeper note Parsons has stated in an article that he had an awful time coming out to his mother, that being said I would think that experience helped him grasp the character and project the range of emotions in the play. The ending is cliche
David Lynch comes to mind when watching this movie, no rhythm, rhyme or reason absolutely had no continuity. Symbolism of the dead sheep outlining farm life, futuristic sequence of one character feeding an elderly parent and receiving the Nobel prize. The school custodian sitting in a freezing cold truck is he the character ending it ? Characters discussing top of mind issues at dinner, speaking their minds, unusual. To End it all cerebral dancing in the hall at the high school? Get out the Zoloft !
I have to wonder what impact this type of movie has on a young African American kid who doesn't finish high school and owns more guns than books? Glorify's the great American pass time of killing someone, beating up someone, notice the men whom died and were beat up were white. Is this some kind of subliminal message here? Washington is older and looked stiff, hard to kill the bad guys with arthritis. Give this movie a pass it has no redeeming qualities isn't entertaining and promotes violence as a means of employment.
This movie highlights the attempt of the FBI trying to prosecute Coleman Young. Drugs gangs, 5 roamed Detroit. The all time high of 50 deaths per 100,000 during his 20 year term in office. Detroit saw a decline in everything during this period, housing, automotive, economic strife. White Boy Rick attempts to assist the FBI with drug connections, but he convinces his father an off the book gun salesman to manufacture drugs. Local police arrest him and the FBI disappear. The sad reality is that this family wanted to move away from the violent east side of Detroit.
In jail a young girl's plan to kill her father is outweighed by a younger sibling who remains in child services care. Dream sequence's introduce a kind mother and help develop the plot leading to the acquisition of a gun. Transparent over worked child service workers, disturbing pedophile scene pair with a street smart heroine only to realize her father has changed. If this is indicative of the current situation for troubled youth it is disturbing.
This series is tragic and highlights the incompetence of both law enforcement and the justice system in the United States/ California and Missouri. How a states attorney did not review and take over this case is just outrageous. Emotionally this series outlines the tragic consequences of the families of these girls the impact of one girl Audrie whom commits suicide 9 days after she is raped and Daisy who committed suicide 22 days ago and whom not only suffered her father's death but her brothers death in 2018. The parents of these children are hero's particularly Daisy's mother her house was burn'd down and she looses her job. Audrie's parents sued the boys whom raped their daughter and this film was documented. This film should be shown to every grade nine boy and girl in North America clearly boys are not being taught integrity empathy and respect and honesty.
Perhaps Guy Ritchie is sort of a David Lynch bizzare but funniesk director if that the case I missed it. I didn't recognize Hugh Grant, McConaughey always the cool guy, Colin Ferrell was funny. So tired of the same themed drug lord fighting off another drug lord movies, with deaths and witty diatribes. All the actors have been making movies for decades get together write a script between all of you there is a 100 years of acting experience.
This movie was uplifting incredible, the character Sandler plays through true friendship starts to heal and to take control of his life again after a tragic life altering event. It culminates in the strength of the human spirit and emulates kindness loyalty and the importance of friendship. Sandlers humorous movies are not something I have ever enjoyed its not entertaining for me, however the serious actor in this man has arisen and he will surely be a recipient of an Oscar before his career is finished.
This is a fun summer movie with Rachel McAdams and Will Ferrell playing the role of an Icelandic band entered in the Eurovision contest. Pierce Brosnan plays Will Ferrell's father which is funny in itself as they are likely no more than 10 years in age apart. Brosnan still smokin ...The movies message is have fun, with elves involved in a murder ? It easily would pass PG13 rating. I would imagine this was fun for the actors to star in, the movie has elements of a dark comedy.
This movie was made for the summer months and is geared to the 13 to 25 viewing audience. No interesting soundtrack to warn the viewer of the shark attacks?
This animal is extinct and would not be interested in a human to eat. It would be interested in a big whale that being said if scientists really found the shark they would want to study it so destruction would not be an option. The story is ludicrous from many perspectives however the redeeming quality is predictable deaths of non significant characters.
I love Marisa Tomei she is the one reason I watched this movie. The plight of a social climber aspiring to 'mount greed' ends in great financial loss and makes him a black mailer in order to secure his original investment is returned. It was like a box of hamsters crawling on top of each other with great clothing. There was no significant build up or suspense and the phrase we covet what we see is significant in this particular movie. Tomei plays a cool cookie and executes her revenge she really saves this movie the only realistic character.
This movie should have been called gold zinger instead of the reference to A View To A Kill, James Bond. The start of the show was great the big band the entrance the helicopter all creative. The monologue lacked humour it reminded me of Henny Schekman "please take my wife " bit from the 60's, the monologue just needed polish. J.S. delivery was really loud whether he was nervous or had mic issues or trying to make his point by delivering the monologue in this fashion either way it didn't work. I noticed half way through J.S. thanked the audience he let it slip in C in Cars he dislikes his fans, the people that made him a millionaire. Finally lets hope no one sues him for co-writing his monologue he seems to always be court for cookbooks comedians in cars etc., if they sue he should let them have the credit!
