Enjoyable for the whole family. Millie Bobby Brown is charming.
The is a good, well-inentioned move that is just way too slow moving.
This movie could have been so much better. It's 91 minutes long but take away the opening and closing credits and it is only 80 minutes. After a brief scene with Elizabeth Shue, Boom!, Tom Hanks is shepherding a convoy in the North Atlantic. I had to check to see if I had dozed and missed something. I had not. Usually a movie such as this is a cat and mouse game between the U-boats and the ships guarding the convoy. Here, the U-boats were just a prop like when the Washington Generals play the Harlem Globetrotters. The commander of the U-boats was just a disembodied voice who broke into the convoy's communications to announce that the convoy will be destroyed. The close battle scenes were good but the CGI for the distant views could have been better.
