"You're not going to be any trouble... are you ?" That line alone in the first episode just makes you jump for joy as you follow the story of June. Never underestimate a mothers love. That is this seasons take on how Jude tries to save her oldest daughter.
Season 2 continues the struggles of a maiden. Her voyage takes her on a journey to save her youngest daughter from a future of pain. The writers of this season got it right. The facial close-ups with the pains of a mother. Only women can understand. Men who control through the use of religious faith, is something that needs to be explored and exposed more often. I am a man, and yet even I can see how this show is trying to expose the real truth. Powerful, yet emotional.
As a female, walking into a room of men, you can't help but wonder why they are afraid of you. Yet you're terrified for your own life. This is how women around the world feel with regards to religions. I was always told "Men run this world" and they are right. How ? Through religion. Handmaid's Tale is one such show. It gives a very short story of what has been happening since the dawn of religion. "In the name of God" we kill and control. This TV show brings it all out. No holds barred. And it gets it right !
I loved Seasons 1 through 4. But season 5 just kills the show. The acting has declined, the graphics quality has dropped, and the storyline is just drawn out garbage.
As a person who works with 3D modeling and artwork on a few web series around the world, it becomes obvious the short cuts they take with graphics. ( Come on, not all stars shine the same brightness in the sky, and yet in some scenes that is what they did, and others they got it pretty close to right. Where is the consistancy ? ) Point is, the show has issues and the visual quality of it is just one of them. I'm not even going to bother explaining how the acting is all F this and F that now.
Not worth watching anymore.
Amazing show. They are not copycats of other shows, and they bring their own story together in this amazing tale of Wessex. I can compare this to the show Vikings and you can almost see the two shows meshing together. I hope this show continues to season 5.
I really tried to like this. But it has become the worst Star Trek show ever. And it seems to be getting worse. Too polical, too much "you gotta read these subtitles to understand anything" and too much bad acting.
