Spotlight handles this distressing true story with respect whilst telling it like a thriller.

The premise is interesting, but the delivery falls short. From the costumes to the acting, it's very average.

Jojo Rabbit is a delightfully tender telling of a young boy's WW2 experience. It manages to take a fresh perspective on a piece of history that has been examined many times through film. In addition to the creative script and plot, the film successfully manages to work humour into the narrative in a tactful way.

Perhaps one of Jim Carey's most memorable roles, and rightly so - The Mask is an extreme caricature of Carey's usual performances but still manages to feel exciting. The special effects are hilarious and nostalgic, but there is little character development and the plot takes a backseat to Carey's performance.
