Chris Pratt is annoying. His face, his voice, his personality is aggravating and annoying. I hate his character and everything about him. Other than that, every OTHER character and everything about them and this story is straight up awesome. Anything to do with Chris Pratt though is ridiculous. His characters demi god storyline with Kurt Russel is cringe to watch acted out. Every supporting cast actor brought more fun to the show than the main character so its worth a watch.
Hulk steals this show. Thor does well, as always, with that great casting choice. Its entertaining enough to keep you distracted from whatever flaws you may find in the movie. I had trouble finding them because I was immersed. It seemed like a pretty solid comedy action marvel film. It also generated a great birthday meme.
Wrong again ROTTEN TOMATOES. No single part of the movie was satisfying. It is a computer generated snooze fest. The casting was wrong, the script was wrong, the director is a moron and having Harrison Ford in it just reminded you (along with some of this own facial expressions) that his movie was so much better. Its just bland. For a movie set in a world with so much cool in it, you are never left feeling anything but disappointment and boredom. Compared to the original , this is a B rated sequel with an even larger effects budget which means the failure falls squarely on the director and script writers. Whoever cast that guy as the main character also should be barred from casting director positions. Casting is EVERYTHING.
Moral of the story? Never trust the FBI or the CIA. With that said, the movie is actually really really good. It is on par with films like good fellas and other high level crime movies about true storys. This movie should have gotten more attention than it did because in my opinion, its one of the best crime movies ever made. I liked it better than most of the others. Its solid story telling and Cruise , once again, commits like no other actor can. Watch it. Its high level drama and captivating circumstances.
Im a sci fi nerd. As long as you know half of what your doing in movie making, it will be hard for you to disappoint me. This movie skated that line a few times with me but ultimately never crossed it. This was not a waste of time, I really liked it. Cruise cant really phone in any job. Every role he takes, he takes on 100% and you always believe hes in the world you are watching. He carry's this movie on his shoulders and marches through it , taking your attention with him every step of the way.
Push out of your head, any historical inaccuracy's. Push out of your head, the things they may have gotten wrong. When you do, you have an epic of storytelling and heart. The people that made this movie understood the beauty of the samurai. While they might not hit every note perfectly, the symphony of emotion and sound roars through your soul, and makes you want to grab a book on samurai history. Watch it. Absorb it. Learn from it.
Back when drama was drama. This movie also showcases the importance of chemistry. If the cast had been one person off, this movie would be boring. Instead, its a showcase of acting talent. Worth a go. Dont worry....you can handle the truth.
A little starship trooper vibe here. This movie is actually really good. If you are a sci fi nerd like I am and always eat up anything sci fi that is above B rated movie night. This is not B rated. Its a good use of time. Replay value? Ehh maybe 2 times.
It may be more faithful to the source material but it did not make it any better for it. Nor did the extra CGI budget. I do agree that the acting is good but this movie did not scare me one bit. The original did. I blame the director for this. People of today just dont understand that the mind creates more fear when things are absent, then it does when you put a spotlight on every detail of the horror. CGI lets you see more gore and more detail, but it doesnt translate to fear. The attempts to scare you psychologically are always far more watered down than the original. You also see these moment coming from so far away that you are fully prepared by the time the horror walks out from the shadow. _Hey yo_ I see you in the shadow there...how about coming out already?
It- BLAaamiea Im going to kill you!!!
Yeah yeah yeah...
Proper scary. Even watered down from the source material , the psychedelic nature of the horror of IT creeps into you , slowly, deeper and deeper. The chemistry here between the kids and the grown ups are wonderful. It feels like breakfast club one minute, and check the closet before bed every night, terror, the next. The CGI of the new one cannot just fill in for the psychedelic horror of the original. For me, the original is still the best for that reason.
I grew up on 80s movies. I was late to this party though. By the time id seen Goonies, id seen every other 80s and 90s movie that did everything better than Goonies. I just did not see the amazing chemistry everyone else saw. I thought the movie was boring and lacked any impact. I never formed a bond with the kids. I found them all to be mostly annoying. Stranger things of today did a better job at everything the Goonies did back in the day. I didnt feel that sense of adventure and wonder going through caves and backwater towns.
I love it. You love it. Bill Murray does not love it. But thats ok. Its got almost everything from the first movie that made it great. The soundtrack is , in my opinion, even better than the original. The story is good. As far as that goes id say its even equal with the original on story. Chemistry between the boys is just as good. In my heart this movie is equal with the first, I just see them as one big movie instead of two separate ones. They follow the formula that closely. But its slightly less detailed and a couple characters get on your nerves. So its only slightly behind the original.
Its all about the soundtrack and atmosphere. The chemistry of the actors is perfect. The settings are great, the special effects are great, the storyline is ok. My favorite part is oddly , the car driving over the bridge with Winston and Ray, talking about the apocolypse and he says, he man lets turn on the radio, and then the song plays and your back in the 80s again. Why is this movie so good? It time travels you. This movie is why you love movies. Chemistry, effects, atmosphere, soundtrack. Its a home run.
Another family favorite from where I come from. This movie proves that acting chemistry is the number one most important thing for a great movie. You can have a silly storyline, campy one liners, a boring setting , and still make a movie with amazing replay value. Everyone involved in the casting of this movie should be acknowledged because if a single person was missing, the movie would not have worked as well as it did.
Jamie foxx almost ruins the movie with his annoying character but the use of the new camera that is supposed to be good at shooting night scenes really shines here. The best moments of the movie are when no one is talking. Its about soundtrack and atmosphere. It does a great job of this. You will like Tom Cruise. He went through really good training in firearms for this film. The way he uses a gun and his personality , really make you think he should have done more villians. He slips into the role very convincingly. Sound effects are spot on. The plot is decent as long as its focused on the Cruise. Anytime the plot goes to Foxx and friends, its bland and boring. When Cruise is on the screen, the movie becomes an experience.
THATS RIGHT! Ship all banged up! Im lining up all your friends, right beside you! Welcome to Earth!
Alien invasion never looked so cool. This is every bit of talent and big budget cgi in the 90s , all focused into a single point in 1996. We could have probably cut out the entire section of movie that involves that drunk pilot and his family that meant really nothing and got some random pilot in a jet to sacrifice himself and it would be just as good. Its the only negative in the movie. Some people and plots have no real impact on the audience. But its overshadowed by all the good things it does.
