This season is more political this time around. It weighs down the story and breaks immersion. Some of the things mentioned are over the top and made to appear if they really are happening in our society on a regular basis. The political stuff that is. It really doesn't lessen an otherwise quality story.
Yes, it's a jumbled mess. The acting is near spot on, and the scenes are well written. The problem is three-fold; The short scenes bounce around making the story feel incoherent, the writers are trying to fit too much into one episode, and doing this for a straight hour intensifies the first two. Think "The Leftovers" done wrong.
But I love the characters and the scenes, it gives a similar feeling to the book. If they slowed down, this show could be great instead of getting five stars only from fan-boys like me.
