Good movie, black/white, background mostly in run down apartments, diners, smoky pool halls.
Classic man finds woman sitting at a counter, buys a drink, becomes boyfriend/girlfriend. Man is pool hustler (Paul Newman). Lives day by day... running from town to town
Jackie Gleason plays his typical self
Runs a bit long, could have been shortened to 90mins
I think this is a movie that most fans of black/white movies can appreciate. Bette Davis plays a Marilyn Streep "devil wears Prada" actress; independent, aggressive, and powerful while Anne Baxter plays a charming, cute. Passive.... turned dominant character as plot develops. Thoroughly enjoyed!
I really enjoyed this movie with Humphrey and Hepburn. Very heart warming, easy to watch, no plot twists, beautiful paris, NYC, skyscraper , and mansion scenery. The two business owner brothers remind me of duke and duke on "trading places". I didn't even take a pause break for this movie
