The movie has no real story to it. Nothing changes (story wise) from start to finish. This is just watch Micheal kill people for about half the film, while the rest is filled with needless flashbacks and 'exposition'.
So if you want to see one of the iconic killers of the slasher genre its a good film but otherwise it lacks any purpose.
Though the film is very cheese in some of its presentation, there are very good practical effects, with a solid story line and characters. Making for an enjoyable watch.
The film also addresses problems that do occur in London. Such as, knife crime. Though more around what drives some people to do such acts.
Over all, the film has an odd charm to it and personally this is one of my favourite films to date.
I do not know where to begin with this film. Such a breath of fresh air for zombie films.
Great story and emotionally powerful scenes. Make for an amazing viewing experience. Left me feeling extremely emotional. Can't recommend it enough. Tempted to give it a 5 star. If I could though I'd give it at least a 4.75 but I am being very picky on that.
Watched it on a whim with a friend and was not disappointed. An amazing and shocking film, that explores psychological trauma within a situation.
Honestly, fell in love with the film as a whole, with the characters and the plot. May seem cliché but still manages to hit the right notes.
A great film that laid the foundations of found footage films.
Though some found footage films can be questioned why, the person keeps filming this explains it fairly cleanly while making sense. The acting feels natural, though personally I don't like the characters, its not due to the acting but just the sort of people that the characters are.
If you haven't seen this yet, It is worth your time.
All round amazing film. The ending will leave you speechless and feeling a little uncomfortable but this is the goal director, Ari Aster wanted. Though not a perfect film, the faults in it are nit picky and some personal preference. Such as the a camera shot being upside down for cool effect but personally left me feeling disorientated, though I can still respect the shot.
Definitely worth a watch.
At best this is a mediocre film and that's giving it the benefit of the doubt for its cast.
The plot is very basic and filled with clichés.
Though I found some enjoyment in the film from making fun of certain scenes, but that's about all the enjoyment I got from it.
Some of the character relationships felt extremely forced and some scares in the film just died as you end up waiting too long for it but you already know its coming. (if you watch the film you'll know what part this is mainly directed at).
Overall, watch for a laugh with a mate but nothing else.
A great classic. With a enjoyable cast and plot the film has become one of the greatest horror films among the majority of horror film fans, including myself.
If you want to watch the films that were a defining part of horror, this should be on your watch list.
Though not in my top 10 favourite horror films. 100 Bloody acres is an extremely odd yet weirdly charming horror film, with 'questionable' moments.
Be warned the film is a very crude, black-comedy.
But, with a great cast it makes for an enjoyable watch.
The main part of the film was very enjoyable with a great plot and themes. Although, some questionable actions by some of the characters it still feels like something someone would do.
The main part where the film falls down is right at the end, just turns into a cliché with the character having plot armour for story reasons.
Though not my first pick (mainly due to the ending), its worth a watch if you have the time.
Probably one of my most hated horror films of all time. I'm surprised it has such a high review but each to their own.
For me the Plot was questionable, and filled with clichés. There was potential but Some of the lines from the characters, and/ or their actions just destroy the tone of the film.
Maybe the concept could have worked but just too many parts that just destroy the film for me.
I also feel like the topic of the film is poorly handled, definitely not my film.
Personally I enjoyed Spiral a lot. It breathes new life into the SAW franchise, while also feeling like its own film. The film itself has some predictable twists, and a few clichés but still a very enjoyable watch.
The gore in this film doesn't feel excessive and has amazing special effects.
To be more specific I'd give the film a 4.25 but that's me being pedantic.
Will be adding this film to my horror recommendations.
