Five students driving through the desert encounter the inescapable stench of death in director David Payne's retro-inspired slasher/monster/supernatural horror hybrid. An unusually dull slasher...
Reeker is so cinematically bi-polar that it should come with a complementary prescription for Lithium.
Extras on the disc include a 'making of' featurette and a photo gallery.
Is it dramatically worse than other run-of-the-mill horror/mysteries? Nope. But that's hardly a ringing endorsement.
Usually trailer reels do not warrant a mention, but there is the unmistakable whiff of irony in the inclusion on this DVD of a preview for Perfume.
From its arresting opening to its mind-bending denouement, Reeker proves that the horror genre will always gain from the right amount of Payne.
The biggest problem is that unless your cinema is equipped with Smell-O-Vision, then the supposedly terrifying stench of the creature is likely to be lost on you, no matter how often the actors screw up their faces and go 'Ewwww!'
There's one basic problem here: this horror flick isn't remotely scary.
A gore flick with surprising smarts and heart -- not to mention a flat-out fun ride.
A suspenseful and occassionally gruesome slasher with an interesting premise. But despite the eventual plot twist it isn't quite as unique as it thinks it is. A good little indie film though that provides plenty of little shocks and a nasty vicious villain who's revealed quite late on in the movie after a fairly slow

Fun horror film, although I wish it would've been gorier. It just had the right feel to be an all out gore fest, and I was disappointed how much they shied away from some potentially creative, bad-ass kills. It did however have some standout, creepy moments and plenty of spooky atmosphere. The picture was great and
