See more Adrian M @blissyu2 08/06/2023 You know it's a bad movie when the entire plot and movie is summarised in the first 30 seconds of the trailer. They didn't even need the whole trailer to summarise it. Okay, so, spoiler alert, this is about a fictional town which has a population of 436, and needs to stay at 436 no matter what. So if anyone is born then someone else needs to die, and if someone dies then someone new needs to come in. They hate strangers because if they stay the night then someone needs to die. They even have ceremonies where someone is picked to hang, which is a great honour and they smile and say thank you. And if anyone tries to leave then they get lobotomised. And that's just the townspeople. If someone moves past the townspeople then the town itself will stand in their way, by giving them fevers. In spite of all of this, the townsfolk are actually reasonably friendly. Anyway, this is about as boring as a story about a census taker might be. It was a nice idea that could have led to a good movie, only it didn't. The delivery was completely wrong. Maybe they could do a follow-up where the army comes in and tries to kill them all only for the curse to stop them and people magically survive fatal shots or whatever is going to happen. As it was, this was a boring movie. It wasn't scary at all. It was a bit worrying, but yeah not scary. It was a nice concept and a remake or sequel could potentially be good, but this one was not.
