Ellis follows up his high-flying tale of reptilian terror with this horrific frightener concerning a group of college students who discover that their dormitory was once a mental hospital presided over by a sadistic doctor. Critic Reviews for Asylum
[An] utterly inept follow-up horror of a horror film by Snakes [on a Plane] director David R. Ellis.
Audience Reviews for Asylum
Formulaic and, eventually, just silly.
The killer is a ghost who can teleport, disappear and reappear, but to defeat him, you can stab him, burn him, or do anything to him that would also harm a flesh and blood human being.
I'm all for the cheap thrills of cheesy "dead teenager" flicks, but if I'm thinking about logic in a movie like this, then the filmmakers are doing a lot of things wrong. A failure even by low standards.
Weak story, terrible acting, cheesey costume design, and very predictable. Although some scenes were fairly graphic, it wasn't good enough to stop this film from being an unsmart horror flick.
