Bernhard Wicki's directorial debut, this is an excellent little film with little plot and no known names on the roster. In the final days of World War II, German teenagers join the Nazi army in a futile attempt to stop the enemy invasion. A sympathetic officer places the boys as guards of a seemingly unimportant bridge. The seven youths are thrown into battle when American tanks unexpectedly appear and try to cross the bridge. The film has a definite anti-war message. ~ Dan Pavlides, Rovi

Director Bernhard Wicki's precise and gripping staging of the final battle brings the tragedy of war sickeningly alive.
A really great and interesting view of the war. I really connected with the kids and found myself pleading that the Americans would'nt come over the bridge, even though I'm British. A heartfelt story or the useless war losses.

Una de la segunda guerra mundial y la locura de los últimos meses, cuando Hitler mandó a los niños a contener a los aliados. Y parece que está basada en un hecho real. Impresionante las escenas de la batalla en el puente.
