The original My Sassy Girl is one of my all time favourite movies. The main problem with this remake is that it just doesn't translate well as a story. While the Korean original Sassy Girl is funny and over the top, this one played by Elisha Cuthbert is just obnoxious and a bit rude. I have no real gripe with Elisha
as an actress, I have seen her in things before and found her okay, but My Sassy Girl, she is not.Quite honestly I wish they would just overdub the original films if people are too stupid or lazy to read the subtitles. Occasionally there is a good remake of a film, but they are far and few between, and this definitely isn't one of them.I guess it is okay just as a rental, but it's not written very well and is below average even for that. They seem to have really dumbed this one down. It's a shame as it may put people off seeing the original which really was very well done.
