I don’t know that it accomplishes the same covert intricacy as some other Eastwood films, but it was interesting to revisit. Go to Full Review

The script and direction are unabashedly skewed towards feeding a lowest-common-denominator notion of war heroes and takes a righteous stand in favour of war, rather than exploring or portraying an authentic picture of the psychological impact... Go to Full Review

For many, I suspect, American Sniper may be weirdly liberating-gratifying a perhaps hitherto unsuspected desire to see their pessimism, hopeless and unchanging, projected on the screen. Go to Full Review

Eastwood steers clear of politics—it’s not about questioning the mission, it’s about the toll the mission takes on victims and survivors alike. Go to Full Review

Eastwood and Hall construct a very cinematic, romantic tale that leaves little to question; though reality, as always, is far more intricate and certainly not as black-and-white. As the saying goes, "When the legend becomes fact, print the legend." Go to Full Review

Jeff C Dec 28, 2021 Emotional. (Minus the obvious fake baby blunder), remarkable film. See more N Nov 17, 2021 I think this was better than a lot of people say. See more William I Nov 12, 2021 It was fast-moving and was an accurate picture of the circumstances at that time. The actors were excellent! See more Henry D @Henry_Domke 5 days ago Engaging and inspiring. The thoughtful editing, moving back and forth between locations and events in time, helped enormously. It never lagged, and everything felt unusually real. I especially liked the way the film showed the ordinariness of how someone regarded as a hero might see himself, rather than presenting him in the usual heroic mold. See more Tam B @RT76976074 5 days ago The film as a whole was excellent, the story and the acting made the film emotional and enjoyable. To understand the lengths that one individual went to protect his country and his fellow soldiers was remarkable. This isn’t my normal kind of film but I’m really glad that I watched it and would highly recommend it if you haven’t already seen it See more Giovanni T @RT44369250 Sep 22, 2026 If you celebrate when americans gratuitously invade other countries and mass murder people, you'll love this fake-biopic that describes Kyle as an american hero with a moral code. For those who read the book he wrote (from which the movie takes inspiration), you'll surely notice all the racial slurls and nazi-fascist ideas are missing from the film. In a world where "the hurt locker" exist, American Sniper is just propaganda with a jacked bradley cooper coating on top. See more Read all reviews
