Ellroy's prose crawls into characters' secret hearts and under the reader's skin, but its foetid horrors become kitschy here, the script too streamlined and the lead performances too shallow to dredge the story's depths.

The Black Dahlias a murder mystery based on true events, but, story built around the famous 1940s murder , mostly fiction. It has great potential with the great sets and designs from the era. However it seems labored and frankly not that compelling.

I should've believed the reviews. It was absolutely horrible. How could a director with Brian De Palma's stature be responsible for this mess. The two male leads should be wearing paper hats and serving fries. They certainly aren't actors. From the first scene, the picture had no credibility. I want my $3.99 rental fee back.

I liked that it was set in the 40’s and it was recreated well, but the story was pretty boring and the characters weeny interesting at all. Couldn’t finish the movie.

Filme fraco, o roteiro é fraco, as cenas são fracas, a história é fraca, o elenco é fraco, e ninguém ajuda a melhorar o filme, os personagens são fracos, e o filme deveria ter cenas bem melhores e relevantes, para fazer o filme ser bom
