Deckard (Harrison Ford) is forced by the police Boss (M. Emmet Walsh) to continue his old job as Replicant Hunter. Ridley Scott ought to be a set decorator, rather than a director. In Blade Runner, he loses sight of the story while devoting all his attention to decor and lighting. The decor and lighting, it must be admitted, are stupendous.

It took me a while to catch up and settle in, but once I did, the movie was energetic and thumping all the way to the end. Stunning work in imagining and depicting the future, especially for a film from the early 1980s.

Maybe its because I watched this film for the first time in 2026 but I found it highly overrated. I liked the sets and the comics were great but I just felt like this film left so much out. Harrison Ford's voiceovers were also very awkward and unnecessary. I thought the acting was decent from the Replicants but this wasn't Harrison Ford's best moment in film that's for sure.

Ahead of its time many movies want to be a sci fi noir type movie but always fail to deliver but this movie does it right and no movie will ever do it the way this movie did .
