Denzel Washington and Angelina Jolie muster enough electricity to make The Bone Collector a watchable thriller.
The film never really gathers suspense and tension.
Another borderline-absurd scenario.
Grisly thriller with great performances; not for kids.
The filmmakers forgot to satisfactorily conceal the identity of the homicidal title character.
The Bone Collector can't overcome limits of its script and it is unlikely to remain in viewers' memory for a long time.
A desperate send-up of authentic evil, a True Crime! tabloid 'zine thriller packaged with all the subtlety and restraint of children's toothpaste.
shares with most of the films of this genre a penchant for moody photography, startling bursts of violence and, regrettably, a finale that's so far-fetched and relies on so many coincidences it's impossible to swallow.
The real killer... is easily spotted in the movie's one scene that isn't specifically designed to move the plot forward.
O que poderia ser uma boa história transforma-se em um emaranhado confuso de clichês.
A thriller that also manages to focus on the art of mentoring.
Surprise revelations and plot twists undermine the entire film.
Once again, Mr. Washington delivers a fine performance.
The movie's atmosphere is moody and intense, bubbling like a caldron. Unfortunately, the broth turns out to be stone soup.
The killer - whose identity is so tangential to the plot he might as well be the butler.
You've got a film that leaves you with a sick feeling in your stomach. And it has nothing to do with all the severed bones and fingers you've had to digest.
The film assumes the characteristics of a bad slasher movie.
Weak ending.
The material is crude, sado-porn slop, and not even a gem talent like Washington (or a rising one like Jolie) can make it smell much better.
Jolie here emerges as a bland, practically sexless ingenue.
