It is one of the best movies to ever come out of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, balancing engaging action set pieces and witty dialogue with intelligent character studies and ethical debates. Go to Full Review

Captain America: Civil War is fun; it's too well made, acted and scripted for it to be anything less. Go to Full Review

This is a "war" where quips and quotes greatly outnumber casualties. The noticeable flaws are clear to see, but the thrills and simple satisfactions more than save the day. Go to Full Review

The things it does well far outshine its downsides, and it is a showcase that comic book movies can not only be fun and entertaining, but also thought-provoking. Go to Full Review

The battles have few moments of lucidity compared to other Marvel films, since it seems that there lies the conflict of this new comics universe: achieving the balance between fights and words. Maybe they should take more time to develop the scripts... Go to Full Review

Anthony L 10/01/2021 A perfect introduction to the 3rd phase of the MCU. The story, dialogue, and action blend in a perfect stew of good times. See more Jeffrix 09/10/2021 good movie to follow the story arc. a few issues with the fight scene with all the heroes. vision disappeared through most of it conveniently. and I hate watching iron man and cap fighting. But it's got to follow the arc I guess. See more Aryaman S @AryamanS 3d Captain America: Civil War features one of the finest action set pieces in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but its greatest strength lies in its story. Much like Avengers: Age of Ultron, the film presents an ethical debate for the audience to consider, this time examining the balance between accountability and individual freedom through the Sokovia Accords. Rather than allowing the spectacle to overshadow its characters, the plot deepens existing relationships, advances the arcs of Steve Rogers and Tony Stark, and reshapes the dynamics of the Avengers in meaningful ways. At the same time, the introduction of Black Panther, Spider-Man, and Ant-Man organically expands the MCU without distracting from the central conflict. The result is an intelligent and engaging superhero film that proves comic-book blockbusters can succeed through character as much as action. See more Alex J @RT51904888 4d A major flaw is the movie doesn’t even attempt to convince you Stark would pick the side he does. I can’t get over this out of character decision. I get that you needed Cap vs Tony but come on. I guess it’s MCU so shame on me for expecting a thought-provoking film. See more Chris S @Janomi 4d Captain America: Civil War pulls off an incredibly difficult balancing act. Despite one of the MCU's largest ensembles, the story never loses sight of Steve Rogers and the ideological conflict that drives the film. Rather than creating simple heroes and villains, the screenplay gives understandable motivations to both Steve and Tony Stark, making their eventual clash feel tragic instead of inevitable. Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr. deliver some of their strongest MCU performances, while Tom Holland and Chadwick Boseman make unforgettable introductions as Spider-Man and Black Panther. The airport battle is spectacular, but the emotional showdown between Steve, Tony, and Bucky is what truly makes the film memorable. Daniel Brühl is excellent as Zemo, though viewers expecting a more traditional physical villain may find him less immediately memorable. It's one of the MCU's strongest character-driven stories. See more E.D. J @Salty_Sass 6d It's an avengers movie that's not an avengers movie. Honestly if this was just a captain America / iron Man movie I would've liked it. As a civil war movie? It's not great. They're trying to do too much when the baseline story is already enough. If they focused on that it would've been a much better movie overall See more Read all reviews
