Blandly earnest drama of a young gay man trying to raise his little brother after they're orphaned plays like an After-School Special...

The Conrad Boys has moments that play well, but it remains to be seen whether Lo has what it takes to be a successful filmmaker.

Churlish though it seems to throw daggers at this clearly heartfelt but insipid drama, the naiveté quickly becomes exasperating.

Both very personal and very generic. Along with square camera setups and flat lighting, it has no going subtext except anxiety.

Audience Reviews for The Conrad Boys

What a cheezy movie. The acting was pretty lame but tolerable. The love story was pretty blah but it had a few moments. You can tell this was written by someone way too young and unexperienced in writing. Overly sentimental and never fully explores any of it's plot points. The last half hour was a bit unbelievable and pointless.

It's such an earnest and well meaning film. However, I couldn't get past the poor acting. For a film to work, it can't be lacking in a major area such as this. It has some slow stretches as well. There was too much obvious symbolism, the score is too ordinary. Good effort, just didn't quite make it.

Eh, not bad but you could do better and certainly worse! The main character goes through a lot but in the end it doesnt really go anywhere. There isnt a real resolution to everything. Plus the hot guy leaves.
