California teen Dave Morgan (Sean Astin) is digging a pit for a pool in his backyard when he happens upon a caveman frozen in a block of ice. Aided by his goofy friend Stoney (Pauly Shore), Dave transports their discovery to his garage, where the Neanderthal thaws and is revived. When Dave and Stoney find the living and thoroughly bewildered caveman, they attempt to pass him off as a foreign exchange student named Link (Brendan Fraser), resulting in many misadventures.

The warp factor of Shore's customized Californian dialect goes well beyond Wayne's World. In fact I found it as inscrutable as the reason why anyone at all should go see this movie, save for Brendan Fraser's lumbering enthusiasm as Link.

The plot is nonsensical, with more telling the audience rather than showing, especially when it comes to the arcs of the characters. With that said, I had quite a bit of fun with this nonsense

سرد سريع مع تمثيل مبالغ به. الفلم ضعيف . الفيلم فكرته بالبداية حلوة وغريبة شوية، بس التنفيذ ضعيف جدًا. القصة بسيطة وسطحية، تمشي بخط واحد بدون تصاعد حقيقي، وكل الأحداث تقريبًا مبنية على نفس النكتة: صدمة اختلاف الزمن. الحوارات عادية جدًا، ونكاتها مباشرة وسهلة، تعتمد على الإحراج والمبالغة أكثر من الذكاء. الشخصيات نمطية وواضحة، ما بيها عمق ولا تطور يخليك تهتم بيهم. التمثيل متذبذب؛ أكو طاقة ببعض المشاهد، بس بشكل عام الأداء مبالغ فيه، خاصة الشخصيات الثانوية. الكوميديا تشتغل أحيانًا، لكن تبقى محدودة. الموسيقى شبه مستمرة طول الفيلم، لدرجة مرات تصير مزعجة ومفتعلة، كأنها تحاول تجبرك تحس إن المشهد مضحك أو حيوي حتى لو هو عادي جدًا. أما الإخراج، فطريقة السرد مباشرة وبسيطة بدون أي بناء ذكي أو تصاعد مدروس. المشاهد تجي ورا بعض بسرعة، اعتماد كبير على المواقف بدل ما يكون أكو تطور تدريجي أو اهتمام ببناء اللحظات. ماكو لمسة إخراجية مميزة، وكلشي ينطرح بطريقة سطحية تخدم الفكرة بس ما تطورها

Filme fraco, o roteiro é fraco, as cenas são fracas, a história é fraca, o elenco é fraco, e ninguém ajuda a melhorar o filme, os personagens são fracos, e o filme deveria ter cenas bem melhores e relevantes, para fazer o filme ser bom
