Transported to an alternate universe, four young outsiders gain superhuman powers as they alter their physical form in shocking ways. Reed Richards becomes Mr. Fantastic, able to stretch and twist his body at will, while pal Ben Grimm gains immense strength as the Thing. Johnny Storm becomes the Human Torch, able to control and project fire, while his sister Sue becomes the Invisible Woman. Who in there right mind thought it was a good idea to turn the Fantastic Four into a weird sci-fi movie with body horror and 0 personality?! Oh and Dr Doom is just a radioactive garbage bag

Honestly, I really didn’t enjoy this. After watching the 2005 Fantastic Four, this reboot feels painfully slow and strangely empty. The cast has talent, but the characters never have the chemistry or charm needed, while most of the movie is spent on setup instead of actually being a superhero film. Then the main battle is rushed into the final stretch and feels underwhelming. A waste of time for me.

While you can appreciate the modern-day setting and the talent casting of Miles Teller, Kate Mara, and Michael B. Jordan, nothing about this film speaks Fantastic Four. The film is slow, and it basically is a science project gone wrong, government-takeover type of movie; that is literally what the narrative is, and for over an hour you see science about a machine being built, with nothing about a Superhero team. Another thing is that they have to wear bodysuits that have to control their powers instead of training and figuring out how to control their powers by themselves in their Fantastic 4 suits. Even Dr. Doom is heavily altered into some stone from the ground, with green in him, making him look more like a guy with kryptonite than anything actually representing Doom. Also, why are his powers different? Nothing about this film is actually Fantastic.
