The story is a perfect way to bring these two titans of horror together and it doesn't disappoint. Its fun and knows exactly what it is. "Freddy vs. Jason" (2003) is a descent movie considering that creators had a difficult task with this one. I mean it is 18th movie of combined both franchises, and both of them has been milked to death at that point. And this long coming cross over has to make it work - two iconic movie killers, new set of teens, kills and all of this should have been packed into 1 h 30 min - a standard for the franchise. And mostly i think they succeeded, but one would wish a better film still. Overall, "Freddy vs. Jason" isn't a bad film by any means, and for it mostly worked. Its a one fan fiction and it is decently done, considering the task. The film focuses almost entirely on the battle between the two iconic killers, leaving human characters with little depth or impact. Lori, living in Freddy’s old house, and her friends are central, while Will and Mark are confined in Westin Hills hospital to test the dream suppressant Hypnocil. Directed by Ronny Yu, the movie connects Springwood and Crystal Lake geographically and innovates with CGI dream sequences, though some effects have aged poorly. Ken Kirzinger portrays Jason, towering over Robert Englund’s final performance as Freddy. Despite minor inconsistencies and the unusual blending of both universes, the film pleased fans, achieved commercial success, and remains a unique entry in the franchises, later expanded in the 2007 comic Freddy vs Jason vs Ash.
