Audience Reviews for Indestructible Man

A mix between a Frankenstein story and film noir. Lon Chaney Jr. only has two lines in the whole film but he manages to carry his scenes alright. Kinda slow at points but manages to get some good thrills, especially at the end. Overall, not a bad way to waste an hour.

How many times has Chaney been brought back to life with electricity? This movie's pretty boring for the most part, but it's also kind of cool in some parts too like the ending.

I watched this one cause I'm a Ross Elliott fan, didn't realize that Lon Chaney Jr was the big star in this one. Can you be the star of a Movie with only 2 lines. Chaney plays a criminal on Death Row, after he is fried by the electric chair his body is sold of course to a mad doctor, who really doesn't seem so mad, but he brings Lon back to life, his criminal name the Butcher. And the Butcher vowed before he died to get his crooked lawyer, and mob boss who set him up. Its in Black & White, would make Chiller theater, more of a suspense film / crime wave, then a horror film. 2 1/2 stars get it in a multi pack, pass on the single a waste of money.

A cliche detective narrates about being on the trail of stolen money that never turned up after a heist. Three criminals, one a murderer, are suspected of being involved. Also the lawyer representing all three is suspected. The murderer is put to death and then like Frankenstein's monster is brought back to life with added strength and skin impervious to bullets, except on the low budget there is no monster makeup. Lon Chaney Jr. lumbers around seeking revenge. The detective starts to become friendly with the murderer's last known "girlfriend," a burlesque dancer with a heart of gold. Nothing special or exciting.
