It was definitely better watching the movies this way. Though if you are new to the Monogatari series then it is pretty overwhelming as the subtitles for this series is well known for being very quick. If you ever wanted to test how quickly you can read subtitles this is the perfect sequel movie to try it with. Other than that it was well animated and it was everything you'd expect from a movie by Studio Shaft. See more 10/25/2016 visually pleasant, animation on the fight scenes top notch, weird fanservice moments, brings back some of the charm from the anime series, and if you're a monogatari fan then this movie is worth a watch.
