Jane Birkin stars as Corringa, an inquisitive schoolgirl who is intrigued by a castle housed by the village. The creepy residence appears to contain plenty of secret passageways, and a looming, evil energy that appears to emanate from a cursed cat who patrols its grounds. As people slowly meet a grizzly demise, Margheriti piles on lashes of dark, gothic imagery to create an ominous mood amid the blood, guts, and gore. An atmospheric delight that rightfully takes its place among other "giallo" movies from the 1970s, LA MORTE NEGLI OCCHI DEL GATTO is a suspense-filled splatter movie. [More]
