Still, there's plenty of fun to be had from the fleet-footed zombies and random nods to Mad Max. Go to Full Review

If it sounds like there isn't an original thought in The Scorch Trials' scripted head, you're right. But at least you won't be smacking yourself in the head trying to figure out what's going on. Go to Full Review

Unlike the second Hunger Games movie, which largely felt like retread, the latest Maze Runner opens up its world and actually contextualizes the motive behind the bad guys. Go to Full Review

...the film leaves the impression that the narrative possibilities hinted at in the first installment are diluted in a proposal that prioritizes constant action over building internal conflict and character identity. [Full review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

Unlike other YA franchises, the basic emotional underpinnings remain vacant in The Maze Runner movies, and the action isn’t good enough to keep our attention. Go to Full Review

Scorch Trials does not present any new themes or much character development but it does cement the concepts of truth and freedom that The Maze Runner introduced. Go to Full Review

Paul S @PManRager 4d Once again, the Maze Runner saga gives an epic, thrilling, and terrifying dystopian adventure, filled with twists and turns that made this movie such a joy to sit through. I definitely recommend it for action, adventure, thriller, sci-fi, and survival fans, and for fans of The Maze Runner series! See more Sunnie N. @sunniedae Mar 3 THE SUSPENSE OF THIS MOVIE THE MIX OF THE AI ROBOT CRAZY STUFF AND ZOMBIES WAS A MASTERPIECE!!!! See more Benjamin N. @Benjamonster Dec 29 The filmshooting and shots were beautiful, the escape from the prison was very interesting as well as everything else. This film felt like so much packed into one, which is a good thing. See more Thiago B @RT84504788 Nov 30 The premise is interesting. However, the superficial and expository dialogues take away much of the scene's emotional weight. The chase scenes are very well shot, while the action sequences fall short. I found the contrast between the first and second film quite fascinating - the first focuses on a confined setting and a group of survivors trying to escape, while the second turns into more of a zombie movie, with generic cinematography and makeup, yet featuring a story that stands out from other zombie films. See more Caleb S. @review-person-friend77 Nov 26 I feel like this is a movie you watch just because the overarching story somewhat interesting. All I want to know is why the maze was important, but the coolest part of the trilogy—the maze—isn’t in this movie. Other than that, terrible score, poor writing and acting, cheesy lines, but hey, at least the zombies are kinda cool? I’m only watching this to get to the third movie. Hopefully that one is better than this. See more Read all reviews
