Awarded a scholarship to the University of Texas at Austin, small but scrappy Freddie Steinmark gets a chance to play football for coach Darrell Royal (Aaron Eckhart) and the Longhorns in the late 1960s. Alongside old teammate Bobby Mitchell and new friend James Street, Steinmark helps the Longhorns find success. When Freddie suffers an injury that leads to a shocking diagnosis, the young man must utilize his indomitable spirit and courage to rise to the challenge like a true champion.

My All American means well, and as a film it isn't without merit; sadly there just isn't enough of it for this inspirational sports story to emerge victorious.

Even those who love inspirational sports films might have to flinch from "My All American" is a movie so square, conservative and humorless that it winds up playing like a brutally straight-faced "South Park" parody of gridiron schmaltz."

It's a story worth knowing and a life worth celebrating - we could all be inspired by this young man's insight and determination. If you're looking for a family film with an inspirational and affirming message, go!

I quite enjoyed the first 40 minutes. By then I had a sugar overdose, couldn't watch anymore and needed an antidote like John Wick or so. I never finished the movie.

Good film to watch with family. The movie is a little cheesy but the true story of Freddie is moving and can inspire us all to be brave and courageous. A sweet tribute to a deserving person.
