Movie Info

Jet Li weasels out of the north Shaolin temple to assassinate a despotic ruler at the ruler's extravagant public birthday celebration. Two other men from the south Shaolin temple also set out to assassinate the ruler, but all three fail and are chased all over by soldiers. Meanwhile, one of the southerners turns out to be a cross-dressed woman, who is also discovered to wear a footbell to match Jet Li's, meaning they are somehow slated for an arranged marriage.

Martial Arts of Shoalin is the first and only collaboration between Jet Li and Lau Kar-Leung. There is some slightly unconventional weapon use as well. This is also one of the few times that Jet Li has used this particular combination of weapons on screen, and it turns out to be one of his best fight sequences. This is

Pretty much the last hurrah for Shaw Bros., this film has an unmatched epic scale. Fights are even fought in the Forbidden City and on The Great Wall, which only adds to the grandeur! The story may not have the honest simplicity of its predecessors, but amazing choreography and sheer excitement are what make it hold
