Just when you thought it was safe to go back to the adoption agency, along comes this sequel to the 1990 comedy hit Problem Child. Ben Healy (John Ritter) and his sociopathically unruly son Junior (Michael Oliver) move out of town after Ben and his wife split up. Ben discovers that his new city is overrun with divorced women looking for husbands, and Lawanda Dumore (Laraine Newman) soon sets her predatory sights on Ben. The kid in Problem Child 2 is so obnoxious that when his divorcing parents engage in a bitter custody dispute, the loser gets to keep him.
Top Critic[Problem Child 2 may] be the most sheerly repulsive kiddie movie ever filmed.
Louder and dumber, more preposterous, unfunny and pointless.
How exciting can flatulence jokes still be, once you've seen them on cable?
I'm probably getting awfully moralistic, but couldn't the geniuses who devise entertainment for tots have come up with something a bit more, uh, responsible?
At times this poor version of a sitcom seems written by five-year-olds for five-year-olds, so much so that one suspects its script was fingerpainted.
The problem is not so much the child. The problem is the movie, one which is, in its own way, amazing. Why was it made? Who made it? Do they have children? Would they want them to see this thing?
If you take the family to see this deplorable excuse for a good time at the movies, then parents deserve what the kids will learn.
Pointless, purile sequel to a not-outstanding film. Avoid.
Even more dreadful than its genuinely trashy predecessor, Problem Child 2 is a morally bankrupt film totally lacking any artistic merit.
I swear this film plays like a sick joke from the screenwriters, who seem to be throwing anything at director Brian Levant, expecting to be reprimanded or refused.
Even better than the first....A silly no-holds barred giggle
Better than the original. Hilarious hijynks including the best vomit scene ever!
The worst sin, however, is selling this piece of slime to children. Executives at Universal Pictures apparently have no shame.
Easily the worst film so far this year.
