David B. Dec 1 Only watchable due to it’s stupidity! See more TheMovieSearch R @TheMovieSearch Aug 16 One of my friends actually gave this movie a surprisingly decent score, so out of curiosity (and maybe a little disbelief), I decided to check it out for myself. Big mistake. If there was ever a film that lived up to its reputation as bottom-of-the-barrel horror, Redneck Zombies is it. From the opening minutes, it’s painfully obvious this film had no budget, no vision, and certainly no real direction. The production quality is so low it looks like it was filmed on a camcorder you’d find at a yard sale—or worse, on one of those old Cricket flip phones that could barely record five seconds of video. The cinematography is headache-inducing, the editing is choppy beyond belief, and there’s no sense of flow or rhythm to how scenes are stitched together. It’s amateur hour from start to finish. And then there’s the acting—or, more accurately, the complete absence of it. Every single performance feels like it came from someone’s drunk uncle who wandered onto the set after a cookout. You’d think a movie called Redneck Zombies might lean into camp and parody in a way that makes it enjoyably bad, but it doesn’t even achieve that. Instead, we get stiff, awkward line deliveries paired with one-dimensional caricatures that make you cringe rather than laugh. There are maybe one or two fleeting moments where it seems like the film is going to embrace self-aware humor, but they vanish before they can do any good. As for the story, “plot” is too generous of a word. It’s essentially a parade of nonsense strung together by the loosest possible thread: toxic waste turns rednecks into zombies, and then chaos ensues. That’s it. No depth, no creativity, no memorable scares—just brainless gore and filler. And even the gore, which could have at least given it some cult appeal, is so poorly executed that it feels more like a middle school art project gone wrong than anything resembling horror. The biggest issue with Redneck Zombies is that it fails to land anywhere on the bad-movie spectrum. It’s not “so bad it’s good” like Troll 2. It’s not even the type of cheesy trash you can throw on at a party to laugh at with friends. It’s just bad—unfunny, unscary, and unwatchable. It’s the textbook definition of a “why does this even exist?” kind of film. Personally, I can’t recommend this to anyone. I tried to see what my friend saw in it, but I guess we’re just wired differently when it comes to movies. For me, this was ninety minutes of my life that I’ll never get back, and not even the novelty of its title could save it. See more Ronald R Jul 3 I absolutely love low budget horror comedies. It's filled with a special yet ridiculous sense of goofy and shows exactly the hard effort put into it. Like Bad Taste. Unfortunately this is NOT one of them. This is such a boring snooze fest of a film without any charm or entertainment with a plot and story that's barely even cohesive. One of the most dislikeable and annoying characters thought of. It's probably the most empty nothing film i've ever seen yet. And with a absolute amazing title like "Redneck Zombies", I was felt disappointed. Sure you do get the country folk turned into zombies... about an hour in the 90 minute film. The few i'll compliment the film ever is the strangely realistic gore.. which doesn't look like really good fake blood, it looks almost too real for comfort. While this was shot on probably the worst format, a film can be shot on, which is Videotape, it looks terrible but the film comes advantage of it, with the tripping acid autopsy scene, it really does make you feel like you're tripping as well, so props there. Overall while there's a few memorable lines, interesting effects and great concept, it was executed amazing poorly. It's like the ideas they had box office gold worthy ideas coming in, but the film made by untalented and uncreative people whose never seen like a movies in their life before. See more 10/04/2016 Completely asinine; as far as "B-Rated" zombie movies can be rated this one is decent enough and I would say is at least worth watching for zombie fans. There is also some humor throughout. See more 10/23/2015 A terribly acted Troma release. Redneck Zombies is the type of film you watch just for the fun of seeing a cheesy comedic gore fest. That's all the movie actually is really worth, the gore and yet it's awfully badly done. But at least they have an original plot line and it's almost and art house film with the ass camera in a cheap Entrail Vision. Not really recommended, but still worth a look for the defining bad zombie movie. See more 12/25/2014 Jeez, talk about a pile of shit. Razzie Award-worthy acting and overly stupid characters galore, lol See more Read all reviews
