On the hunt for the twisted vigilante and serial killer Jigsaw, Detective Eric Matthews and his team must apprehend the elusive murderer to rescue eight people trapped in an abandoned house, before they succumb to his torturous and murderous games. Bousman and writer Leigh Whannell construct their version of a skewed morality play where Jigsaw's devices pull “guilty” victims apart like shredded beef in a crockpot. This is empty-headed stuff, with little thought behind its cruel philosophy.

Saw 2 ups the anty from the first film and gets right to it, and it has plenty of memorable scenes. Tobin gives a great performance (reminds me of Ledger's Joker a bit at times), and there's still that signature suspenseful atmosphere. Definitely a worthy follow up.

I love the house and twist at the end. I know they have to get more involved in a more complex situation, unlike the first one, to keep it from going stale. It just feels like a step in the wrong direction.

This was a decent follow up to James Wan’s original Saw. This is basically the same plot as the first but way much gorier. Tobin Bell is great as Jigsaw and seeing his past and his motivations added more layers to the character. The traps were fun and seeing the characters taken out one by one was interesting.
