Rich L. @turnerfan77 Mar 26 I really can’t find the words to describe just how perfect Schindler’s List is. Steven Spielberg is the greatest director of all time and this movie just proves it once again. After watching this film it just sat with me and I couldn’t stop thinking about it. This definitely could be one of the greatest movies of all time. Liam Neeson and Ralph Fiennes give incredible performances but for me it’s Ben Kingsley’s performance that brings so much emotion. I can’t imagine the horrors of the holocaust but Spielberg’s story is done perfectly that is filled with emotion and horror. The cinematography is beautiful. The score by John Williams was haunting. This is a masterpiece that should be seen by every film fan. Steven Spielberg. Bad films- The Flintstones. War/History movies- . Empire of the Sun. Schindler's List. Saving Private Ryan. Amistad (friendship in spanish). Family Comedies- Indiana Jones 1-3 (and stop!). Jurassic Park. Silent partner on Back to the Future's? Non-family, non-comedies/ essays about tension- Duel. Jaws. Actually managed dark- Tom Cruise pair- War of the World, Minority Report. I understand people's / french phase- Et. Close Encounters... I don't like him, honestly. I feel he just wants to dominate. I can't really think of a single Spielberg 'character'. But, being fair, or trying for that- - Some of the jokes land. - He is good , at the classic film director, cecil b demille thing, of scale. - He does excitable, (groan) bright I suppose teenager quite well. It shows how a businessman's ambition evolved into a mission to save lives, fueled by profound compassion. While the soldiers seemed to have lost their humanity, intoxicated by the power to decide who lived or died, they also appeared driven by fear—the fear that showing kindness would be seen as a betrayal of their comrades. The final scene, where Schindler weeps because he feels he could have saved even more lives, is truly heart-wrenching. It reminds us that wealth is meaningless compared to the sanctity of life. I sincerely hope that these historical memories continue to be transformed into art, ensuring we remember and learn from the past. It still boggles my mind that Spielberg was able to work on this movie about the Holocaust at the same time he was also working on a science fiction movie about dinosaurs.
