Critics Consensus

Despite some surprising twists, Scream 3 sees the franchise falling back on the same old horror formulas and cliches it once hacked and slashed with postmodern abandon.

Scream 3 often feels like a spectre of slasher-movies past, but it features an engagingly prescient mystery about the dark side of Hollywood, and builds to an enjoyably tense climax in director Wes Craven's version of a haunted mansion. Go to Full Review

Wes Craven seems to have lost the thread of what makes these movies so entertaining, merely hoping fans would appreciate getting another romp with beloved characters. Go to Full Review

SCREAM 3’s flirtation with genuine subversion makes it one of the most interesting — and most frustrating — entries in the series. Considering the circumstances that influenced its production, it’s remarkable that it works at all. Go to Full Review

Landon V. @Mightymax 12h To start off this is definitely the weakest movie in the trilogy and probably the franchise but its not awful I didn’t have a bad time watching this movie. First thing that I didn't like from this movie is idk if it is just me but the movie felt way longer than it was idk if that was the pacing or for just me, but this movie definitely felt longer than it showed. Another thing is the cast for stab in the movie wasn’t really shown and as important as I would’ve liked to see I feel they where just there to get killed it didn’t feel there’s real meaning to those deaths. Now to get to the things I liked Sid’s PTSD felt real and authentic. Another thing I liked from this movie is Gale’s character development she gets less selfish in the movie which is nice to see another thing is the opening kill that is something scream always gets right. Roman was a decent killer the lore he brought in made the plot kind of more confusing but not in a bad way. Overall mid 3rd movie but not awful. See more Contabrawler @Manitoww 1d Pânico 3 é o mais fraco, mas longe de ser ruim, tem uma ótima crítica a Hollywood e um embate final muito interessante, com bons personagens e um final lindo para Sidney Prescott. See more Jackson M @Jackson150 Feb 15 I loved scream 1,2,4,5,6 and I will probably like number seven coming out, but this one sucks See more BRENDEN J @Moviefan109 Feb 8 Well for Scream 3 was not all that great the plot and the story was all over the place to where it was just a big mess also for the characters were not all that great just like they were in the first and second film there acting in this movie was very poorly done and they made Ghostface not scary anymore just a straight up goofball. But yeah, Wes Craven did try for Scream 3 but somehow it did not land for me. See more Carson C @Weetziebat3 Feb 6 I despise Scott Foley. Seeing him in a horror movie was great. Unexpected Patrick Dempsey! Another horrible haircut for Gale Weathers. See more Mansour A @Mansour471 Jan 28 This movie was great don’t know why people hating on it See more Read all reviews
