A must-see film for movie lovers, this Martin Scorsese masterpiece is as hard-hitting as it is compelling, with Robert De Niro at his best.

It works its strange alchemy with riveting force… With this extraordinary film, Scorsese confirms his standing among our finest young directors. It is, among other things, a testament to the versatility that last produced Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore. Go to Full Review

Taxi Driver is so volatile it nearly explodes from the screen. Under Martin Scorsese's brilliant direction, it works a dramatic tension that is inescapable, carefully, systematically straitjacketing its audience in the problems of its central character. Go to Full Review

Remove the cataclysmic ending from Taxi Driver and it would be one smashingly good motion picture. As it stands, the film is beautiful to look at, exciting to listen to, but much too much to stomach. Go to Full Review

The viewer has no choice, we are forced to breathe the air, gaze through the pupils, and experience the city by slipping into the shoes of a twisted protagonist, the shoe laces tightly tied by none other than a master of his craft, Scorsese. Go to Full Review

Allen T Sep 12 A great character study/story. A mental health story. A cautionary tale. A good one if you like DeNiro. Bernard Herrnann's final score sadly- full of emotion. So glad it was back on the big screen! See more 지우 김 @RT29438103 2d Watching this movie, because of De Niro’s surreal acts, I felt the same depression as Travis has. Besides, this movie’s ending looks delightful, ostensibly(punishing bad guys). However, we can think differently. Travis tried to assassinate Palantine before executing the gangsters. That is, even Travis wanted Iris to get out of miserable life, this might have been not the intention of the execution. His broken mind led him to kill the gangsters. This gives us question about morality with whether good intentions or not. See more paul O @Paulo190408 Mar 2 Disappointing given that it was directed by Scorsese and starred Robert De Niro. It was released in 1976 and I suspect both were still learning. Started reasonably well but lost all shape and credibility as it went on. See more Aizik G. @rkstar Feb 7 I liked it it was tuff I feel like ending should’ve been longer tho. There could’ve been more I feel like, like what happens next since he saved iris See more Zane T @ZaneThind Feb 1 One of Martin Scorsese's all time best films with a bone chilling performance from leading man De Niro. De Niro embodies Travis Bickle so well that you feel like you have met this guy in real life at some point or another. See more Read all reviews
