When John Connor (Jason Clarke), leader of the human resistance against Skynet, sends Kyle Reese (Jai Courtney) back to 1984 to protect his mother, Sarah (Emilia Clarke), from a Terminator assassin, an unexpected turn of events creates an altered timeline. Instead of a scared waitress, Sarah is a skilled fighter and has a Terminator guardian (Arnold Schwarzenegger) by her side. As flashy as it is with tremendous and eye-popping special effects, it has created an extremely convoluted mess of merged timelines and revisionist storytelling that treads all over what made the 1984 original and superior 1991 sequel so great.

I really liked it. I don't think it's nearly as good as Terminator 2 but still worth a watch. The action is fun, Emilia Clark and Jai Courtney both did a good job as Young Sarah Conner and Kyle Reese in my opinion. And, Arnold Schwarzenegger is an absolute scene-stealer as the T-800. He never misses. I would also say that Lorne Balfe delivers a good score. Sure, he's no Brad Fiedel (The Terminator theme is always iconic) but you can tell he did his best to build off of what Brad did. So, yeah. Overall, I would say go watch it! Wish we got another PG-13 Terminator movie.
