Ken G @RT95371959 2d I wanted to like it BUT, it did not become what it was trying to be. Unlike movies such as 'ALMOST FAMOUS' or 'Dazed and Confused', this Movie (Everybody Wants Some) had No defined Protagonist and No defined struggle or climax. It was just watching a bunch of guys drinking beer, smoking pot, competing in college... and then just Ended, with no climax or reason. For Example - Almost Famous, the kid had out to figure out how to write about a rock band. He was the Protagonist, and his Assignment and his experiences were the antagonist. When he finally wrote the story after the airplane incident, it was a sense that the movie was resolved. In Dazed and Confused, there was a clear love story with Randal Floyd, as he was also fighting for survival against the upperclassman. The movie resolved when he stood up for himself (grew up) and fell in love. But Everybody wants some had no clear protagonist/ antagonist and no story. It was literally, lame. Nice effort though. It does a decent job with the 1980 Americana vibe but were people seriously that mean to each other? I don't think people went around brutally insulting each other and then continuing their day like nothing happened. Instead, it follows their early days on campus, navigating parties, girls, ego clashes, drugs, and nonstop banter. There’s no heavy plot, no deep drama, and nothing meant to be taken seriously. This is a vibe movie through and through, leaning into goofy humor and a hazy, hangout-style structure that feels lifted straight from a stoner-era mindset. It’s fun, dumb, and intentionally aimless. If you go in expecting a meaningful sports film or a cinematic masterpiece, you’ll be disappointed. But if you want an easygoing, quirky comedy about college excess and youthful chaos, it delivers exactly what it promises. I didn't think I'd ever find a movie less enjoyable than "Do they Serve Beer in Hell?" but this movie might actually compete. There are absolutely zero redeeming qualities. None of the jokes are funny. The acting is horrible and corny. There is no discernable plot. The flirting with women is nausea inducing. The music is good I guess? If you are a boomer. The only conceivable way to enjoy this movie is it gives someone an excuse to live a toxic male fantasy of being a douchey college athlete. For the shocking number of people who somehow find enjoyment in this movie please tell me a single line or scene that you found to contain a single ounce of comedy because I fail to think of a single example. 0/10 See more Read all reviews
