In the Southwest during the Civil War, a mysterious stranger, Joe (Clint Eastwood), and a Mexican outlaw, Tuco (Eli Wallach), form an uneasy partnership -- Joe turns in the bandit for the reward money, then rescues him just as he is being hanged. When Joe's shot at the noose goes awry during one escapade, a furious Tuco tries to have him murdered. The men re-team abruptly, however, to beat out a sadistic criminal and the Union army and find $20,000 that a soldier has buried in the desert.

All three arrive at the cache at the same time. Who gets it? Director Leone doesn't seem to care very much, and after 161 minutes of mayhem, audiences aren't likely to either.

I love John Ford, but Sergio Leone made the greatest western of all time. Every sequence is perfectly constructed, the iconic moments are pure cinema, and Tuco is one of the great big screen characters. Absolutely lives up to its own monumental image.

Simply the Best Western of all-time. With Ennio Morricone's masterpiece of a Score tying in the scenes with amazing flow. Eli Walach performance as "Desperado" Tuco is astonishing. Sergio Leone script is also very well crafted.

This movie is probably the greatest thing I have ever seen. There is not a single bad moment in this whole film. The complex character dynamics between Blondie and Tuco are unforgettable. Not to mention, the final sequence at Sad Hill Cemetery is probably one of the greatest sequences in film history. And the score is probably one of the greatest soundtracks ever composed for a movie. 10/10 film.

I remember growing up as a kid seeing a commercial promoting this movie on a local channel for an upcoming Saturday. I woke up the next Saturday browsing every single channel to find this movie but it never came on. I guess it was the wrong Saturday but that goes to show you how fantastic this movie really is. I had only seen the trailer played via the commercial and boy was I hooked on finding out what this story was about. It turns out it’s one of the best films ever made and takes you on an adventure that only your imagination could dream up. The story already draws you in from the beginning and then you get to the middle point of the film where it just flips and the adventure goes up a whole new level. It really just gets better and better. The soundtrack is simply timeless, the locations selected for filming are impeccable and the set designs are truly fantastic. This is must-watch cinema for anyone who loves a great story and thrilling adventure in the old spaghetti west.
