Raised by a family of wolves since birth, Mowgli (Neel Sethi) must leave the only home he's ever known when the fearsome tiger Shere Khan (Idris Elba) unleashes his mighty roar. Guided by a no-nonsense panther (Ben Kingsley) and a free-spirited bear (Bill Murray), the young boy meets an array of jungle animals, including a slithery python and a smooth-talking ape. It's already been 10 years since the release of this film and Disney since then has obviously made a number of other remakes, but The Jungle Book still stands as far and away the best one that they've produced up to this point. What I really enjoyed about it, is that it wasn't just a virtual scene-by-scene copy of the original film. By borrowing elements from both the novel and the 1967 movie, they made something that felt fresh and different. And they did an absolute golden job of casting! Bill Murray and Ben Kingsley in particular really stood out for me. They were the perfect choices for Baloo and Bagheera. And it goes without saying that the movie really earned the Oscar for Best Visual Effects. Unlike the 2019 Lion King, you can actually make out the emotions from the facial expressions of the animals! All in all, if you love the original animated Jungle Book, you'll thoroughly enjoy this one. Can't say that for most of the other remakes.

Obviously nothing beats the original, some things in this movie wasn't the same as the original which is the disappointment for me. If you're gonna make a movie and use the title then make it the same as the original. Why change things in a movie when it's written down for you in black and white, all you needed to do was copy. Songs need to be longer, more pull on heart strings and needs better voice actors but still enjoyed it. The original has the heart for me, same as Lion King.
