Martin D @Mpd195 Mar 3 Very self indulgent film, from acting to writing. Inconsistent, in its mood and tone. Very much a film of style over substance. Feels hollow. Shia LaBeouf has the worst of the self indulgent performances. Mads Mikkelsen's performance is the only saving grace that I find. I will not tolerate Charlie Countryman slander. ✋🏻 This film feels like a dream—ethereal, chaotic, violent, and somehow still tender. A magical roller coaster I never want to get off. I’m a sucker for stories set abroad, where your worldview stretches with every scene. And Charlie’s freefall into love by trusting the universe? What a journey. I want a man to look at me the way Charlie looks at Gabi. Also, the soundtrack is AMAZING. I even downloaded some songs lol. One of the songs is Stars by The XX 👌🏻 Love it all. He keeps doing all that even if it would endanger him and the girl, mf go back to America and the girl's standards downgraded cause gym you go from Nigel to whatever that is. Most dialogues are way over simplified as well as the character relationships, rather cringe at moments. The only thing that makes this movie endurable is Mads Mikkelsen's performance.
