Meek housewife Thelma (Geena Davis) joins her friend Louise (Susan Sarandon), an independent waitress, on a short fishing trip. However, their trip becomes a flight from the law when Louise shoots and kills a man who tries to rape Thelma at a bar. Louise decides to flee to Mexico, and Thelma joins her. On the way, Thelma falls for sexy young thief J.D. (Brad Pitt) and the sympathetic Detective Slocumb (Harvey Keitel) tries to convince the two women to surrender before their fates are sealed.

pretty good classic to pass the time but seems kind of unrealistic, im not sure how i even feel about the ending. certainly worth a watch, great direction and quality production, i really enjoy these older films

A different kind of Ridley Scott film that shoots high and hits the target, the viewers imagination...as we are pulled into the dual lives of Thelma and Louis bringing us unto a journey that gets more twisty and edgy as the film progresses. Leaving but one thought in my mid 20s brain "would i do that, if the roles of the two of them were me and my friend?", leaves a tantalizing nugget as after-food for thought when the movie ends.
