After his beloved father (Brian Dennehy) dies, dim-witted Tommy Callahan (Chris Farley) inherits a near-bankrupt automobile parts factory in Sandusky, Ohio. His brand-new stepmother, Beverly (Bo Derek), wants to cash out and close, but Tommy's sentimental attachment to his father's employees spurs him to make one last-ditch effort to find someone who will buy their products. With his father's tightly wound assistant, Richard (David Spade), in tow, Tommy hits the road to scare up some new clients.

Although the movie has a dry and empty plot, it’s too quotable and funny to not be a great comedy. Chris Farley steals the show and is hilarious despite David Spades also good performance. If in the mood for a laugh should check this one out

I am shocked by how this movie does not have 100% rotten tomatoes. One of the best and most funny comedies I've ever seen in my life. Highly recommended.

This movie did something rather remarkable. I’ve seen this movie many times. Yet I still laugh at the same gags I’ve seen 50 times. It’s crazy to me how much power this movie has over what I find funny. This movie is the pinnacle of comedy and cinema and always will be. No one can tell me otherwise.

It's absolutely baffling how out of touch and way too serious "professional" critics are. This is one of the funniest movies ever made, and scene after scene is filled with Farley being hilarious. Oh look, there's a cliff! Oh my God we're burning alive! Here comes the meat wagon!

"Tommy Boy" is a very self aware silly comedy from the '90s. This movie has solid laughs if you are willing to get on its wavelength. The story is sweet and charming, and there is a comforting quality to it. Sometimes the jokes and humor in the movie can feel a bit one-note and repetitive, but it is still a fun watch. I am not too familiar with the late Chris Farley, but this movie did make me curious about his other comedy movies, so I may go and check those out because he really was the star of this movie and the reason to watch it. Overall, it wouldn't rank as one of my personal all-time favorite comedies, but it is a light watch, and I can see why it is a classic favorite for many people, and see the appeal of it.
