Audience Reviews for Les Douze travaux d'Astérix (The Twelve Tasks of Asterix)

Amazing animated feature film based on the famous comics, Les Douze Travaux D'Asterix is a hilarious, accomplished film that captures the essence of the comics perfectly. If you love the books, you're sure to enjoy this one. Asterix is one of the most famous comics in French literature, and the film is a must for fans. The humor is just like the books, and the characters are terrific and it also has a very good plot. This is far better than the live action films of Asterix, and though they failed to really deliver anything that made the books so good, they were mildly entertaining. However this is the best Asterix film there is, and it is necessary viewing if you're a reader of the comics. The film is well done, and it has plenty of comic induced moments that work well enough to keep you interested from start to finish. The voice talents do a great job and the gags are wonderful. If you are to watch this film, watch it in French as the jokes are far better and much more enjoyable in its original language. With plenty of great moments and effective comedy, Les Douze Travaux D'Asterix delivers a fun and entertaining ride for film fans and comic fans alike. Definitely worth checking it out if you're a common filmgoer or fan of the books. Director by books creator Albert Uderzo and Renee Goscinny, this is a wonderful animated feature that is able to retain the fun of the books and manages to be different as well by offering fans something memorable on-screen. Quite the film, and is a far superior picture than what all the live action try so hard at doing.
