Bob's Burgers is a great show because it focuses on five very well-defined, strange characters, and the premiere respects them all.
It's strange, it's loud, it's sweet, and it's definitely funny.
Every line here is crafted with loving attention to do service to the actor who utters it; all the characters are richly realized and treated with respect, both by the writers and those who provide the voices.
It's how they skew that formula on this show that keeps comedy nerds like this coming back for more.
