Matt LeBlanc stars in this comedy series as ... Matt LeBlanc. The former "Friends" actor stars as an actor who is cast in an American version of a couple's British sitcom that is popular overseas. But, as the star, LeBlanc reworks the show into what turns out to be a terrible cliche, causing tension in the couple's marriage.

Critics Consensus

Episodes makes a comeback by putting the financial screws on Matt LeBlanc's onscreen persona, with the series smartly focusing its humor on the friction between its bumbling leads.

It's LeBlanc playing a version of himself that's the real draw here. In his best Episodes, he is the cable-friendly counterpart to Curb Your Enthusiasm curmudgeon Larry David. Go to Full Review

Episodes no longer jars between feeling like a UK or US show, but is a thing of its own. And it's somehow looser, broader, dafter and certainly ruder. Go to Full Review

More of the same from Episodes: nothing dire, but nothing particularly clever or original either. Once again, the humour was largely supposed to be found in Matt LeBlanc playing a wildly exaggerated version of himself, but this send-up is growing tired. Go to Full Review

The fourth season has returned to leave the good taste of mouth that left the previous ones. [Full Review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

It has Joey from Friends in the shape of Matt LeBlanc, playing himself, Matt, as an older, greyer and slappably unwiser version of Joey from Friends! It has Tamsin Greig! And Kathleen Rose Perkins! And it's really underwhelming! Go to Full Review

There's that blunt honestly, mixed with the dry British humor I've missed these last few months! Go to Full Review

04/17/2018 I have some good news for you if the third season left you disappointed. Though season 4 has to deal with the repercussions of its predecessor, so that two full episodes fall victim to the damage, it's definitely up to scratch with the first two seasons. From the third episode on, the writers provide some really good material again. It seemed as if they had already covered all events that could possibly happen but the storyline is a pleasant surprise. Many of the characters I previously called obnoxious are finally properly tied into the series and become integral parts. Although this season is less predictable and repetitive than the previous ones, do I feel that some subplots are still introduced or abandoned too quickly, making some characters' motivations and intents less credible. All in all, I am looking forward to the final season and am optimistic, it will not be anything like disappointing season 3. Kathleen Rose Perkins steals the show, once again, as Carol. Every expression and action of hers is spot-on. Great physical comedy.
