"Heroes" creator Tim Kring heads this reboot of the world where extraordinary powers up the ante in the eternal battle of good and evil. A year after being blamed for a terrorist attack that decimated Odessa, Texas, people with abilities are either hiding or trying to avoid those with nefarious motives. Two vigilantes, Luke and Joanne, are determined to avenge a tragic loss, and Noah Bennet has gone off the grid -- until a conspiracy theorist finds him and reveals the truth behind the tragedy in Texas. Other extraordinary people from the past cross paths with new heroes, all of whom share the same destiny: to save the world.

What to Know

Critics Consensus

Focusing on special effects and unearned melodrama at the expense of the original's initially intriguing narrative, Heroes Reborn is a series revival with seemingly limited prospects.

I wish that Jack Coleman and his character had been better served by the material. I wish that he'd gotten more time, or at least more scenes that packed a punch. I wish he'd at least gotten to wear his glasses in the end. Go to Full Review

Heroes Reborn appears to have left behind many of the most central, important rules of storytelling. That's fine if you have a larger artistic purpose, but it seems safe to say Heroes Reborn has the exact opposite of that. Go to Full Review

Absence makes the heart grow fonder, and while "Brave New World" and "Odessa" show hints of several of the same issues that plagued Heroes, it's hard not to get swept up in the energy and potential of Heroes Reborn. Go to Full Review

It's still early - the characters are still developing, secrets are still being dug up, and powers are still getting.. actually... forget this. Go to Full Review

The addition of topical vernacular like "truther" to a tired superhero narrative, does not a "rebirth" make. Go to Full Review

it was hard to maintain interest in this juvenilia that should never have graduated from comic book concept to the small screen. Go to Full Review

Faiz D May 14 Rubbish and pointless. See more Martina M 04/16/2024 Nemyslím si že to malo malú sledovatelnost 56% to je ešte dobrá sledovatelnost nízka je až 20,30% See more 10/07/2020 In the words of Billy butcher, this was fucking diabolical. Acting was terrible (even by some of the original cast), script was terrible, character relationships were shockingly poor. Video game sequences were fucking terrible. See more Jrock16 M @Jrock16 08/26/2020 I'm sad that some of the original cast couldn't come back and those that did didn't have bigger parts. I did think it was a good show in its own right and thought it was unfair not to get a second season with so many questions up in the air! See more 03/16/2020 It was a really rocky start (I didn't realize there was a short web series to introduce the characters), but turned out good. See more 05/16/2019 Heroes Reborn tries to win back the crowd that it lost 5-6 years ago with a darker tone, changing of characterizations and having even the characters both from the original series and this "event miniseries" either die or be doomed to uncertain fates. Some of them don't even show up in the series proper! But whilst the performances are still good and there's a slightly increased amount of action sequences, Heroes Reborn suffers from excessive melodrama, uninteresting villains, bad special effects and poor timing. I know Tim Kring remains optimistic about this show but maybe NBC should've striked while the iron was hot and wrapped everything up with a one-hour TV movie when it was announced it wouldn't get picked up for a fifth season. Being released in 2015 where more mature adult-oriented superhero shows such as those set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe means that its flaws stick out more. And its not like the effects can be strictly blamed on a TV budget seeing how by the time this sequel series premiered we already had TV shows with high production values such as Game of Thrones and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Good effort overall but sadly, Heroes Reborn just isn't good. Writers' Strike or no Writers' Strike back in 2007, they probably should've stuck with the original plan of "American Horror Story: Superhero Edition" See more Read all reviews
