The show is weighed down by clunky dialogue and a lead who was not particularly dazzling in the initial episode sent out to critics. See more 10/07/2014 finally a cool show about soccer See more 09/17/2014 Despite the constant comparisons, Matador is no "Bond, James Bond"; rather than be a tense, theatrical spy series with increasingly ridiculous gadgets, Matador doesn't take itself too seriously. In fact, it's downright hilarious, full of snippy one-liners and the kind of gloriously sarcastic people that I, unfortunately, am not surrounded by in real life. There are still high stakes, and a good amount of violence, but above all else Matador seeks to entertain.
