The ensemble that made this show such a fun place to spend Tuesday nights. Welcome back, New Girl. It's nice to see you again.
At this stage in New Girl's life, we're tuning in to see how these characters react to the games the writers set up for them.
It is honestly hard not to love this quirky gang. The comedic energy was there and I enjoyed it like I did with season 1. Everything fits right into place again and the chemistry is back.
Overall, the episode was a nice season premiere and we should be optimistic about the upcoming antics. The shift that will include incorporating Coach and Winston more in the upcoming stories will certainly pay off.
"The Last Wedding" was pretty damn funny and not entirely awful as far as the relationship stuff was concerned. Search your feelings. You know it to be true.
Liz Meriwether said one of the goals for getting the show back on track would be to simplify the storytelling and put her characters in position to be funny as often as possible. "The Last Wedding" is a strong example of that approach at work.
New Girl is back on the solid footing that steered its first two seasons, and perhaps even a little stronger.
Overall, New Girl's Season 4 premiere was a tame start for the return of Jess and the gang.
