Season Info
Matt Groening's subversive, animated satire about Springfield's hapless first family became a cult favorite when it premiered on Fox in 1989 after first being seen in 1987 as a short on 'The Tracey Ullman Show.' That was then; now it's TV longest running comedy. Not since 'The Flintstones' in the '60s has a cartoon series drawn such a large adult audience, and, ay caramba, given us pop-culture expressions for the ages. And in 1999, Time magazine called it the best TV show of the 20th century.

Episodes
Homerland
In the Season 25 premiere, Lisa recruits an FBI agent to check out Homer, who has returned from a nuclear-power-plant-workers' convention a changed man.
Treehouse of Horror XXIV
"Treehouse of Horror XXIV" kicks off with a tip of the cap to Dr. Seuss, with Homer scaring up trouble around Springfield as "The Fat in the Hat." In "Dead and Shoulders," Bart is decapitated in a kite mishap and his head is placed on Lisa's body, necessitating that the two learn to act as one. With "Freaks No Geeks," it's the 1930s and Marge is a trapeze artist and Homer's the strongman in a traveling circus, where sideshow freak Moe puts the moves on Marge.
Critic Reviews for The Simpsons: Season 25
No matter. "Treehouse of Horrors" remains an honorable tradition, and if nothing else, it reminds fans that they don't have to wait for "South Park" to get some good old-fashioned animated mayhem.
An unusually well-plotted episode.
I'm looking forward to it with guarded optimism and an open mind.
The Simpsons has always done an excellent job with parody, and tonight was no exception.
On the surface, a Homeland parody seemed easy, after all just add an "R" and you get "Homerland," but maybe that's why the episode ultimately felt kind of lazy.
