He continued to work in film in the eighties and the nineties, directing motion pictures like "Tiempo de Revancha" (1981), "Ultimos Dias de la Victima" (1982) and the thriller "The Stranger" (1987) with Bonnie Bedelia. He also appeared in "A Place in the World" (1994). More recently, Aristarain directed the comedy adventure "The Law of the Frontier" (1995) with Pere Ponce, "Martin (H)" (1997) with Federico Luppi and the dramatic adaptation "Common Places" (2002) with Mercedes Sampietro.
