With a uniquely meticulous mind, Adolfo Aristarain was able to tell incredible stories with a sense of perspective and imagination that most other directors cannot. Aristarain's career began with his directing of various independent films, including "La Parte del Leon" (1978), "La Playa del Amor" (1979) and "La Discoteca del Amor" (1980). He continued to work in film in the eighties and the nineties, directing motion pictures like "Tiempo de Revancha" (1981), "Ultimos Dias de la Victima" (1982) and the thriller "The Stranger" (1987) with Bonnie Bedelia. He also appeared in "A Place in the World" (1994). More recently, Aristarain directed the comedy adventure "The Law of the Frontier" (1995) with Pere Ponce, "Martin (H)" (1997) with Federico Luppi and the dramatic adaptation "Common Places" (2002) with Mercedes Sampietro. Aristarain most recently directed the Juan Diego Botto historical drama "Roma" (2004).
