English actor Charlie Heaton enjoyed fame on both sides of the Atlantic, both in his native country in features like "Urban & the Shed Crew" (2015), and in the United States with supporting roles in "Stranger Things" (Netflix, 2016- ). Born in Bridlington, East Yorkshire, he relocated to London in his mid-teens to live with his father. There, he joined the rock band Comanechi and performed on their second album, You Don't Owe Me Nothing But Love (2013). After touring with the group for more than a year, Heaton left the band to find more stable financial support; at the advice of his sister, he signed with a talent agency for extras and background performers. In 2015, he graduated to featured roles with his television debut on the UK crime series "DCI Banks" (ITV, 2010- ). Heaton's first film appearance came that same year opposite Richard Armitage and Anna Friel in "Urban & the Shed Crew" (2015), based on the popular novel by Bernard Hare. He remained more active on television, appearing on the detective series "Vera" (ITV, 2011- ) and the medical drama "Casualty" (BBC One, 1998- ) before heading to Los Angeles to try his hand in Stateside television. He soon found representation and landed roles in the indie drama "As You Are" (2016) and the thriller "Shut In" (2016) with Naomi Watts. That same year, Heaton was cast as a series regular on the Netflix drama "Stranger Things," playing the older brother of a boy who disappears under mysterious circumstances.
